Every month, our panel of real parents will be putting our products to the test. They will tell you what they like, what they love and what they want more of, so you can be certain you’re buying the best for your family. Look out for our ‘Parent Panel Tried & Tested’ logo that will appear next to their favourite products.
About: Hi! I'm Liz and originally from Pennsylvania, USA. My husband Dan and I live in Leeds with Benjamin (4 years), Amalie (2 years), and Clara (newborn), plus two dogs. I like to think our busy home is full of both fun and love.
Our family time is the most important thing to us, followed closely by time with our friends. We love being active and enjoying the fresh air. Running, swimming, playing football, bouncing on our trampoline, and dancing keep us busy. As a family, we enjoy cooking together and eating the fruits of our labour too!
We're really excited to be part of Aldi’s Parent Panel and telling everyone all about their new products and best family buys!
When I took this toy out of the box, my nine month old was thrilled to bits! She started waving in excitement! This toy is brightly coloured and the body of the cow is really crinkly. She likes the tail with its ribbon and the two textured feet. Our daughter only has one tooth through now so loved gnawing on this toy. The only improvement is it’d be great if it had somewhere to attach a clip to hand it from her pushchair. Overall, a top buy. I’d definitely recommend this toy!
Our bath toys have been getting a bit tired recently so I have been checking out what’s available elsewhere to liven bath time up a bit more! Aldi had some Nuby toys in store at bargain prices so I thought I’d give them a go. I liked them, not only for the price but also the fact that they’re gender neutral and encourage creative play. Moreover, the two packs of toys I chose could be enjoyed by all three of my little ones regardless of their age from baby to reception years. The floating bath animals were good fun – they stick to the sides of the bath and tiles and made for story telling opportunities about a pirate sea adventure. The other set included a fishing net with plastic toys that linked together. Clara especially liked these; I think they helped her teeth! Both sets can be used together and the bits are interchangeable for extra fun. Nuby is a great brand and I’ve been thinking of going back for a few more packs! Snap these up before they’re gone!
One of my most recent Aldi purchases provided groans from the other half. I bought (another) pushchair. He says we’ve tried every pushchair on the market. To be fair, I have tested and reviewed a lot of them in the past and, with three kids, we’ve used a fair few too. This one, however was a Specialbuy and is a Hauck umbrella fold one. Now that Amalie is big enough to walk most places and we don’t need to use the double pushchair as often, I wanted something that was a bit more compact and lightweight. This Hauck was an absolute steal at £35. It’s lightweight, easy to steer collapse and open, and while the padded handlebars aren’t adjustable, they still suit me and hubby’s height regardless. The basket is a bit small but that’s what you’d expect on a pushchair of its size. I really like the recline function which means that sleepy heads can rest flat. The cup holder is a nice to have but I would’ve preferred it to come with a rain cover instead. Saying that, the hood provides good coverage from the elements both sun and a drizzle. Clara is certainly happy in it and this pushchair is ideal for travel and nipping round the shops!
I was so excited to be able to trial this reusable nappy and I know that there has been a lot of buzz on social media about Aldi stocking them! I’ve tried a few reusables in the past but the Bambino Mio was great! I loved the colourful hot air balloon print (great for girls and boys). The fit was super too – stretchy elasticated sides are comfy. The poppers on the front mean the nappy grows with your baby and the Velcro fastenings aren’t scratchy on delicate skin. This nappy washes really well and it dries fairly quickly too because the booster pulls out (also can be folded for heavier wetters). We didn’t have any leaks either. I love this product and hope Aldi might start stocking more of the Bambino Mio range!
My children will fight over these eggs and it’s a good thing they’re on Specialbuy as they won’t last for Easter! These eggs look the part and are tasty too! They also might not just be for the kids either – this is a great Specialbuy!
If your little one is potty training or becoming confident in using the toilet all by themselves, these wipes are great! They’re a perfect size too to fit in your handbag or nappy bag. The smell is fresh and it seems gentle on little ones’ bums! Plus, the price is great – a bargain at 55 pence (especially if you compare it to other brands)!
I was really happy to receive these pouches in my box this month. What I love is that they’re organic and so easy for when you’re out and about or travelling. Also, if grandparents are looking after our little one, it’s easy for them to give her as a little snack. The flavours are great and the price is even better! We really like the Apple & Banana breakfast pouch. I also really think Aldi should be commended for their labelling on their packing – stating Stage 1 is from 6 months, in line with Department of Health Guidance.
I like this hand wash. It has a pleasant smell and is thick, and it leaves my hands nice and soft. It obviously washes the hands well and makes lots of bubbles! I'd buy it again.
This product has to be one of my absolute favourite Aldi buys!! It's outstanding. I usually get annoyed with bubble baths because the bubbles always seem to pop after a few minutes, even expensive lotions and potions. Aldi's bubble bath far out ranks every other brand I have ever used! The lavender fragrance is relaxing and the mix left my skin soft. The bubbles outlasted me! An absolute top buy that I will certainly be stocking up on! Love it!
I tried this product myself and really liked the flavour. I love that it’s organic and doesn’t have any added nasties. I think the bottle size actually would work well for older children's packed lunches (or mine!) or for picnics. I'd buy this again!
I was excited to see this new product in my hamper this month. I like the combination of both fruit and vegetables in one pouch. My littlest loved this flavour and had it as a dessert. Fab value and great that it's organic! I wish the pouch was bigger!
This mat is a great buy. It's not only good value but slightly wider and longer than my old mat. I really liked the dinosaur print on it too, perfect for girls and boys. It wipes clean easily and has thick padding for baby. A great Specialbuy!
This Specialbuy is a complete weaning set for your child. It's colourful and practical, easy to clean, a great size for little ones, and will survive being chucked from a highchair!
I was pleasantly surprised by this lipstick. Despite its very inexpensive price tag, it's a great product. I love the colour - perfect for the warmer weather. My lips also felt moisturised, so great there too.
I love all of Aldi's Specialbuy books. They're such great value for money and perfect as birthday presents or to add to your home library. My children enjoyed playing with the puppet and making up their own stories, giving him funny personalities! The Humpty Dumpty book was our favourite - similar products cost a lot more so this one, with its music and quality board pages is a great buy.
The top hamper content for us this month would have to be the Hot Dog Relish. To be honest, we don’t eat many hot dogs (and ketchup is really my choice there). Instead, we used this relish with some scrummy pork pie. It was outstanding! The consistency makes a good sauce and the strong dill taste is very pleasant. It’s like upscale piccalilli. Love it!
With such a busy household, we never seem to have a full set of glassware so I was pleased to be sent these Bubble Glasses to try. I like the weight and size of the glasses. The small ones are a perfect size for some juice with breakfast or a cheeky gin and tonic. I like the wine glasses too and think that these could be used to serve some summer puds (maybe an individual Eton Mess or trifle?). The stem fits perfectly into your hand – I could also see these being used for some trendy cocktails during our summer BBQs.
This Lunch Bag is patriotic and purposeful. Great for kids’ lunches or taking out for picnics. It seems easy to clean too and the insulation also seems thick to keep refrigerator items cold.
My kids love all of the Aldi books and these are no different. These Sticker Books are informative and fun plus a great bargain.
I really like this bag because of its bold and unique design. Especially because of its heavyweight material, I think it’d make an excellent swim/beach bag. It’s a great size too, plenty of room in there for all the children’s stuff!
About: Hi! I'm Rebecca Slinger, I am 32 and my daughter Loen Ivy is 10 months old. We live in Congleton, Cheshire, with my husband Paul and our Jack Russell who is 5, Addy.
I work part time as a Project Manager and when I'm at work Loen spends her time at nursery with her pals or with Grandma eating chocolate buttons and being spoilt.
We are always very busy and enjoy spending time outdoors, walking with the dog and the pushchair. Loen loves playing with her toys, baby yoga, having fun on the swings and picnics outside when it is sunny!
I was really excited by this. I do have a cot bed, but my little girlie is too little for it yet - she is still in a sleeping bag. I was impressed by the packaging too. The material is soft and luxurious, and at 4.0 tog it will make an ideal comforter for when my daughter goes into her cot bed.
The Baby Blankets are both good quality, and the neat, pretty, striped pattern is in line with some higher-end brands. This will be travelling with us on holiday for the cooler evenings. It is lovely and soft, and if I had received this when she was newborn, I would not have thought it was an Aldi Blanket – not that it matters. I have three fleece baby blankets that have been used every day. The cellular blankets I have used before are ideal for newborns because they are breathable, but I keep these for colder nights for tucking my baby in.
I love the patterned muslin squares. I missed these the last time around; I only had the plain ones, but the cute deer pattern is retro, and the pastel prints are girly and fun. They are soft and wash really well. The larger size is better for new babies as the amount of mess is astonishing at times – I won’t go into details.
These books are ideal for babies and toddlers, but are to be used with supervision as they do contain some smaller parts. I like the style of these, especially the My First Shoe book with the lace-up front, which is easy to open and contains good, solid pages that can be turned by tiny hands. I noticed on the back of the books that they do flash cards. I will be purchasing those as I am keen to use them with my daughter – a great learning tool.
The Nuby Bath Toys are easily our favourite item. My daughter loves the small, plastic, coloured figures as they are easy to handle, throw and shout and coo at. These have taken many baths with my daughter. They sit in her car seat and accompany her on many journeys as well as joining her in her in the pool, where they squirt Dad in the face.
I use a leading brand Non Bio but I have used Almat to do all the laundry since returning from holiday and I am impressed. Clean and fresh washing, and the sun cream stains have all gone.
I love this product! It is my new favourite and I will be willing to buy this now instead of my usual brand. I love the colour of the cute packaging, the fact that you have done a duo product so I can buy both liquid and softener and it smells divine. Knowing that I am using a gentle product that won’t strip the colour out of the clothes I constantly wash, and that they are snuggly soft is great.
Even though at 19 months Loen is eating proper food and we are past this stage really, the Stage 2 pouches are great for making a quick meal when you are in a rush. For example I used the Pasta Bolognese pouch, added cooked pasta, cheese and vegetables, and it went down very well.
I love these and have three or four in my basket every week. They’re ideal for a speedy breakfast – when Loen is too hungry to wait for her cereal, these are a quick fix! The Blueberry ones are her particular favourite.
I am so glad Aldi has made this part of the core range, I have had a few people contacting me asking for samples or where they can get hold of some and now I can just direct them to store. I trialled this and loved it, then shared it with the older ladies in my family as it was a bit rich for my skin. I am going to start using it myself and see what effect it has.
I have used coconut oil for years. I use it for cooking, on my skin, and I take a spoonful for health benefits. I can’t believe the extortionate amounts I was paying four years ago, and now I can get it as part of my weekly shop! Please will you bring out rice noodles, almond milk and chia seeds too for us healthy people!
Skincare is one of my favourite things to buy and I had run out of facewash just as this month’s hamper arrived! I love the way the Lacura Sensitive Face Wash makes my skin squeaky clean but without any irritation, and have been much less impressed by the leading brands in the past. It’s refreshing, gentle and affordable.
The Lacura Hand Cream is my favourite thing in this month’s hamper by far. I normally use a much more expensive product but compared to this it’s really oily and my hands are still dry. I used this last night before bed and when I got up I was really impressed – my hands were smooth and it really made a difference to the dry patches I have accumulated.
The new Mamia pouches were welcomed by Loen, in particular the Sweet Potato, Butternut Squash, Apple and Blueberry! We love this with some yoghurt. Mamia pouches are the right size, portable and great for a snack. Our favourite is still the Blueberry breakfast pouch – please don’t ever discontinue it, my life wouldn’t be worth living!
The weaning pack is great value and ideal to start baby’s weaning journey! I love the Nuby pots and weaning items and have used them from the beginning with Loen. They are sturdy, wash really well and don’t change shape or colour like some. The idea of a set in a tidy zip case is great as currently we have a drawer over flowing with plastic items – time for a clean out and some new ones!
Used this on a whole chicken and adopted the beer can method, it was flavoursome and much easier in the neat tin than messing around with sachets and jars.
This is a really good price for a specialist sauce, it is great on burgers and sausages and the dill flavour is not overpowering - a must have on the BBQ table.
Mega impressed with these – they are not too flimsy and are easy to wash and dry. I would like to purchase another two glasses as well!
Not used them yet, but I like the style and think they are retro and cool
Good quality, bright, colourful and informative. I think these are a good activity for kids, lots of facts inside.
This is a better price, although it is good quality the material is a little stiff and awkward to use.
We love these and the hoisin too, it was tough choosing which ones I would have these again and love them with salad they can be a touch too spicy sometimes and I love heat so I think it needs a warning on the packet! Like the new cooking instructions, they’re much easier!
We also enjoyed the Mini Gourmet Hot Dog Sausages; my daughter absolutely loves them I think they taste amazing and authentic American!
As always the Prosecco went down well. It really is a favourite in our house as it's a good price and so easy to drink - love it in the glasses you sent me.
The Dog Food has been a surprising success with our very fussy dog. The treat sticks are great too from this range we are using it on alternate days alongside wet food and she's eating it all up.
I absolutely love this, the addition of the Vanilla is so nice a twist but makes it a real treat, I think it would be tasty melted on cakes too, but I ate them all so I couldn’t do that!
Nice taste, I don’t know if I would know the difference between this and the other Dark Bars.
Good Sturdy pieces for little hands with colourful and clear pictures, the handy carry case is great, I have handed this to my daughter’s nursery for them all to use, I think they would love more educational pieces like this.
Love the vibrant colour of the Play Doh, bright purple, now squashed in my carpet but who cares it has brought me a good hour to myself whilst my daughter entertains herself , would be great in a set with other small pots and some cutters/shapes.
About: My name is Tara and I am 35 years old. I'm a working mum to Luke, 5 Kathryn, 2 and Cillian 7 months .
I am a full time nurse working in women's health and my husband David is a train driver. Kathryn and Cillian love to be out in the park or a playground - we love days out and taking Aldi snacks and rug for a picnic!
Thank you for the Pancake Day box of treats! I love the smell of Coco Loco – I bought a new pan in Aldi last week and the coconut aroma filled the kitchen as soon as it hit the pan! We made tasty pancakes using plain flour, milk and large free range Aldi eggs, with toppings such as hazelnut sauce, golden syrup and lemon… and sprinkles of course! #happypancakeday
I really love the new pouches – what a great product! The packaging is easy to use and I love the flavours Aldi has chosen. Our favourite so far is Beef Casserole followed by Pasta Bolognese. It’s great to see them on the shelves in my local London store and they are really handy for the days when I work during the week and don’t have time to cook. The new organic pouches are fab and I would choose them over the competition for their organic ingredients, great taste and user-friendly packaging. Our favourite of the breakfast pouches is the Banana.
Thank you for my lovely Mother's Day bag. It’s very flattering and a good size for storing essentials. I also really love the grey and white colours.
The toddler wipes have come in useful already – they are great for keeping in your bag and using to wipe hands. They are not as thick in texture as the original Mamia wipes but great for a different purpose. The packaging is really good too so it’s easy to tell exactly what they are.
The Easter eggs were a lovely surprise. The Moser Roth Pink Delight was really good quality and I particularly like dark chocolate so this was a nice treat!
Cillian and Kathryn love their buttons and normally we get a packet each week, so the button egg was a lovely surprise. When I was doing my shop this week I couldn’t believe what great value they are – amazing!
The Caviar Cream is such a luxury and so reasonable. It’s great to see it on the shelves for good after its popularity last year. This is a product I would buy again and again.
Mamia nappies are a really comfy fit and there are no leaks… even after 12 hours sleep! As we move up through the stages with our three, the quality from newborn to pull ups is superb and as always remarkable value - less than £3 for nappies and wipes just £0.59p. We are looking forward to trying out the swim pants in summer!
Cillian loves the Mamia Organic Vanilla Porridge. It’s so easy to make, great tasting and a great consistency – not too lumpy or watery.
Cillian, our 1 year old, loves these pouches as a snack when we are out and about.
The hand cream is a regular weekly product in our house because as always hands can become dry after washing. It is a great moisturiser that works immediately to relieve dry, tired hands. It would be great to bring out a smaller size for on the go – my husband wants to take it to work!
The herbal bath soak was just what was needed after a busy week. It is so relaxing and has such a calming scent.
We have always used Tommee Tippee feeding bottles and cannot fault them. They’re easy to use and also to clean, thanks to their wide base. We like the curved area which makes them easy to hold. This product lasts and lasts and can even be used in the microwave. We use it with the handy thermal bottle carriers to keep warm when out and about.
We like the design of the baby changing mat and it’s unbelievable for under £4!
The quilt is a lovely product and the material is good quality. We’re using it on our little one’s cot bed.
A thermometer is a must and it’s always advisable to have a spare. The one we received from Aldi in this month’s hamper is amazing – essential for any family, especially with kids!!! I just can't believe the low price for a practical and top quality product that looks good and has such a range of functions... the scanning of forehead for little ones is good as helps not to wake them when taking a reading. It’s also possible to measure room temperature. The light is also great and something which lots of thermometers do not have – this means you no longer need to look for a glimmer of light when reading the result. This is a really amazing product that will fly off the shelves – I can’t believe we once paid £40 for a branded one that wasn’t nearly as good!
The chubby stick I was pleasantly surprised with – it’s been in my bag all week! It feels like a product somewhere in between a gloss and a lip balm and has such a gorgeous subtle colour. Love it.
The books provided great entertainment especially the horsey horsey one! I will definitely buy the other titles when they become available.
The sauces were amazing. We used the Marinade Tin with steak (Aldi Sirloin is a Friday regular dinner) and it added a lovely smokey flavour. Despite the rainy British summer to date we managed to have a BBQ and used the sauces & marinades. The kids loved the BBQ flavoured marinade added to chicken drumsticks. The hot dog pickle was delicious – sweet, with a good texture. When added to Aldi’s new hot dog sausages it really complimented the hot dogs and will be a regular purchase.
The Salad Dressing was lovely with Aldi’s crunchy salad pack. When I saw so many different flavours, I thought the ginger would be overpowering but together with the soy, it complimented the salad really well.
A really good size, functional and easy to use.
The Team GB items were great and our 6-year-old loved the books. He is currently doing a project at school so really loved the themed goodies. The Lunch Bag and Kit Bag were really good quality and I would definitely buy the Kit Bag at £4.99 so practical and material is much stronger than standard bags. This bag is a great modern design and has multi purposes in our busy house for different clubs and groups during the week or day trips with snacks and rain jackets. Luke (6-year-old) thought the books were great and particularly loved the flag book. Again, excellent value at £1.99 and great for rainy 'summer' afternoons
My friends and I had the Prosecco which was fabulous. We chilled it in the fridge, which made it lovely and crisp. I would definitely buy again and it’s a very reasonable price.
The Mango Mixer was great and I also bought Lime and Papaya. They were both super refreshing and I would definitely buy again.
Bailey loved his Chicken Dog Mixer. We normally purchase this and he really enjoys it every time without fail!
My 4-year-old needed an adult to sit with her to make the pieces, but still had fun.
The chocolate was top as always I love dark chocolate and it was divine. The vanilla was not a chocolate we would normally buy but would again great taste creamy and not too over powering with vanilla.
The Breakfast Tea and Colombian Freeze Dried Coffee are regular purchases. I am a big tea drinker and quite fussy about a strong cup of tea I normally love Yorkshire tea but this breakfast tea is superb for an own brand. It is flavoursome and strong and the packaging is great with the additional foil layer. A fabulous taste. My Husband is more the coffee drinker and again is very impressed With Aldi Freeze Dried Colombian Coffee. It is not too strong and overpowering but has a fabulous taste and again amazing value! Both are essential morning pick me ups on the commute to work, nursery, childminder and school! The morning could not function without them.
I normally would try peppermint as an alternative in the evening but again I liked the Berry Tea. It was refreshing in the hot weather and tasted good. I don't think it would replace the breakfast tea but a nice alternative.
Cillian loves his creamy porridge. It is also a great product if little ones aren't feeling 100%. Recently Cillian had a persistent tickly cough and other foods were making him cough more and this was a great comforter as well as a great tasting product. The texture is 10/10 and so easy to make.
Kathryn, three, loved the floor puzzle it is educational and such a good price too. We will be stocking up for Christmas.
The Play Doh kept Kathryn occupied for an hour making different shapes and rolling. It can be messy but definitely keeps little ones occupied.
The 3D Blanket was a great idea as a comfortable and practical product. We have brought our blue blanket on holiday and it has been great. I think this will be popular product for less than £5, it is also very soft and a lovely texture.
Loved the design of the cutlery and looks like a high end product, the design is lovely and great quality. Think £8 is probably the limit for cutlery sets as pieces may go missing.
The Training Pants I used one day on Cillian before holidays. I wish I had them for my older two kids they are great quality and value and easy to clean.
About: We are the Barton Family, Niamh aged 6, Isla aged 4 and the new baby due in August. We are an active family always on the go, whatever the weather we are always doing something. As a family we enjoy the outdoors, riding our bikes going for walks, playing in the woods/river/sea. Whatever happens it normally involves getting dirty but having fun!
At home the girls love reading books and doing craft activities most of which also end up in a bit of mess (good job Aldi have a good baby wash and shampoo range). As a family we try our best to have a healthy lifestyle, eating well and exercising, we buy lots of Aldi products and love the Super 6 each month!
This was brilliant! As well as our usual savoury pancakes, we tried the Banana and Coconut recipe from Aldi and they were the best ones we had! We have never been big fans of sweet pancakes but you have converted us. The Coco Loco coconut oil will be a good new product. We were discussing it at work today and I hadn’t realised it’s so popular and normally so expensive! A few of my colleagues are going to try it.
We are firm fans of your unscented wipes and bought a couple of boxes when they were 12 for £5.99 – what an amazing offer when other brands are twice the price and you can’t even tell the difference!
I was pleased to see the reusable nappies in-store. We used these exclusively with our first two and have used them a bit with Aoife, but the amazing quality and cost of Mamia disposable nappies has swung me a bit.
We loved the washing liquid and fabric softener. At work a lot of the staff thought our clothes smelt very fresh and clean, as well as being soft – a hit with many!
My daughter’s favourite of the Baby & Toddler Specialbuys was the teething toy – it’s also handy to put in the changing bag so we have it with us everywhere!
My wife has tried this and she thinks it feels very nice and not greasy. She’s going to try it for a bit longer to see the effects but initial thoughts are that it’s a very good quality item and a lot cheaper than her usual one!
We put the cushion on the rocking chair and it has had a couple of comments, with one person thinking we had bought it from the craft boutique just down the road where it would have been three or four times more expensive! They were shocked when I told them the price.
These nappies are second to none, they are equally as good as all the leading brands at a fraction of the cost.
These are a must for all families not just those with babies! Keep them in the car, in your kitchen and bathroom cupboards, as well as in a bag for when you’re out. They’re perfect for babies, as well as toddlers with sticky hands, and at just 59p a pack, all parents and grandparents should carry them for every eventuality. Personally we prefer the non-scented wipes but the fragranced ones are great too.
We have started to try Aoife on the baby food now that she is 6 months old – what can I say, she loves it, especially the fruit-based ones! The sachets are so easy to use with very little waste – squeeze out the right amount into a container and away you go, seal the pack and pop in the fridge for later! Excellent.
The Junior Mini Rice Cakes go down a treat in our house – we’ve even tried them ourselves and were pleasantly surprised that although there is no added salt, sugar or preservatives to any of the food range it is all very tasty!
This was a huge hit! We also have tried a bit, very creamy and we can see why Aoife likes it for breakfast.
The meal time set was a real surprise and such good value! A real bargain, the best item in there is the spoons as they are really well designed.
The books were fun but we felt not overly special. We buy a lot of books and get a lot from the library and although very good, we did not feel the quality of the stories really stood out. That said, I’m a real ‘Room on the Broom’ fan, I even do great voices!
This is brilliant, better than some of the more expensive ones we have had in the past. It is bright, with a nice design, and most importantly, it is easy to clean and a great product for parents too!
I am a real fan! With my other two we almost always used reusables – the cost of disposable nappies and the green credentials of reusables were key for me, however with Aoife the price and amazing quality of Mamia Ultra Dry nappies has made us split our usage a lot more. The reusable swim nappies are great, they have a great design and look good. My daughter loves water and these are perfect – they’re the same price as a pack of just 8 disposable swim nappies, absolute bargain.
This is an item I had thought about getting for a while, we only had the under arm type thermometer so I was pleased to try it out. I have to say I was disappointed, I don’t know if it is ours, and I even changed the batteries, but I could not get consistent results either way. There was always a 2-3oC variation which is far too large.
The luxury hand wash is nice and fresh. It leaves your hands smelling and feeling clean, and is a product we use regularly in the bathrooms and the kitchen.
A very citrusy lime shower gel very similar to a productl I normally use. I would struggle to tell the difference and at less than half the price I normally pay, this is a definite keeper.
The face cream was excellent and my wife Kathryn really liked it. It left her face lovely and clean and was easy to use – she will buy it again.
I can’t believe this is only 75p! Well done, an amazing product! My wife Kathryn has quite dry hands from lots of washing and she loved how it did not make her hands feel greasy. We are also impressed by the UV protection and will regularly be putting this in our shopping trolley.
This had a nice colour and was easy to use.
We used this on chicken, marinated and roasted in the oven (the weather didn’t allow for a BBQ, we hoped we could have one before the review). This gave a spice ‘tabasco’ style fire to the chicken; it was relatively mild but did add a nice flavour to the chicken. A hit from all four of us!
This gave a much fuller flavour as it had the paprika smoky BBQ flavour. This got into the chicken and gave a really full flavour. All of us liked this one and it was my favourite. At £1.49 it will marinade quite a lot and is, in my opinion, better value for the flavour than the Marinade Sauce.
Isla’s favourite - she loves sausages. Niamh prefers burgers and the dill adds a bit of difference to the sauce.
We feel these add a bit of extra interest to a garden party, we will be using them on Friday for Niamh’s 8th Birthday as she is having a BBQ and sleepover. The Bamboo Stacking Glasses look great and are a fun way to serve the ice-cream, stacked like bamboo. The glasses at first I thought looked a bit odd but with wine in they are actually very comfortable to hold and they have really grown on me. A fun and different glass for summer parties and at £7.99 worth it for a bit of a novelty item, oh and they do store ok in the cupboard!
This is really great, it is like an arts bowl and for £7.99 it is amazing value and feel that you might have got the cost wrong. At work people thought it would be £15-20. We are actually using it as a second fruit bowl as our other one isn’t big enough, but as a salad bowl it works really well. It is a classy item and although takes a lot of space (hence it’s out on the side for fruit), our friends said they liked it and it interested people.
The girls love them, they have had great fun doing them and they have really interesting bits to them, like learning flags and countries. As a parent I prefer them to the normal cartoon activity books as they are also interesting to adults. At £1.99 it’s a must for summer holidays especially if holidaying in Britain. Niamh liked the flags of the world as it is similar to things she is doing at school. Isla preferred the Olympic pool one as she loves swimming.
If this is really £4.99 we think this is amazing value, really great quality thick material and a great bag. Isla uses it for her swimming bag. At the moment the material needs to soften to be fastened properly but this will happen. Isla loves the bag and thinks she is a real athlete with her official bag. So watch out Olympics 2024 wherever it might be! At work they really like it and felt like an item to buy and use for sports kits, a couple will buy one for the gym
We bought a large selection of hand cut Crisps (Salt and Vinegar) Dips, Nachos, Specially Selected Olives, along with Salad Bags served perfectly in our Salad Dish, not forgetting the condiments (especially the delicious Hot Dog Relish). We also bought Specially Selected Lamb Mint Burgers, Quarter Pounders, Specially Selected Pork Sausages, Salt and Chilli Pork Belly, Ashland’s Chicken for marinating, some large mushrooms for stuffing and bbqing and some Quorn Sausages. Honestly the range of products is astounding there was nothing we could have wanted that we did not find in Aldi for a BBQ. Even with the weather we had the BBQ and sat inside to eat, might have to invest in a halogen patio heater! We all had a great time the food, dare I say it, was wonderful all as good as we could want the Lamb Burgers and the Pork were real hits and I felt the quality of the burgers were some of the best I had had, no gristle or hard bits - just nice burgers.
The Belletti Prosecco Spumante was very nice and we had a couple of bottles just to make sure it was good! Kathryn thought it was crisp, citrusy and refreshing and would have been even better had it been a hotter afternoon. I started trying a ‘stubbie ‘ or two of Aldi Brasserie a lager that is always stored in the fridge, good start….. the Ales Old Golden Hen, Speckled Hen, Hobgoblin Gold, Old Empire IPA and the German lagers all went down well (generally with the men) whereas the Prosecco Chardonnay and Malbec were preferred by the Mums.
The children loved the Summer Mixer Drinks especially the Lemon and Lime. The ‘pink one’ was also a real hit, especially in their glass bottles with straws.
Don’t worry the cat did not miss out! He went mad for the Vitacat Filled Pockets - a treat for him we will keep buying.
White vanilla chocolate these portion size chocolates are very tasty they are creamy with a hint of vanilla but do not leave a waxy aftertaste. Very nice treat to get with a cup of tea (English breakfast tea) The Dark Chocolate has a quality bitter taste with a nice smooth aftertaste. My daughter Niamh really likes the dark chocolate, she has a dairy intolerance but can have this dark chocolate due to its very low dairy content and she is very very happy about this.
This is Kathryn's favourite type of cake, she likes the way it is presented and the box makes it look like an expensive item. She really likes the moist sponge and the sweet icing! A huge hit in our house.
Being from Yorkshire I do like proper brew!! And this Tea definitely helps to make a proper brew , Full of flavour not bitter and a great colour, what more could you want?
This is a super soft blanket that Aoife loved to cuddle up to. It has been a bit warm with the recent weather but with autumn approaching this will be a super product. We washed the blanket to see how it would wash and it still came out quite a fluffy and soft. Another well-made baby product from Aldi.
We thought this was a quality item that would be very good is it gift the box was high quality and made the products look very expensive. The cutlery itself was quite heavy and very well made . This would make an excellent gift.
This is a very refreshing drink and we like that it is naturally caffeine free we have a lot of friends who have gone to caffeine free and we try to reduce our caffeine intake as well, this product gives a refreshing alternative to traditional tea and green tea. Another product we have been drinking a lot of is Aldi's Peppermint and Liquorice Tea although this is not often stocked in our local store, the Berry Tea gives a good alternative.
This is a great gift idea, the puzzle itself has thick quality pieces and the sample on the handle helps to show this. Aoife is a bit young to play with this at the moment that she loved the bright pictures we liked the poster that went with it and of the book to help with first words is good however the quality of the book is not as good as the rest of the product. We thought this puzzle was very much like the Orchard games range of puzzles, something we have quite a lot of.
About: I'm Sian Taylor, aged 32, and I'm married to Jamie. We live in Cardiff and have a little girl called Pearl who will turn two in July. Our second baby is due soon so we're getting close to becoming a family of four! Well, five if you include Walter, our three year old lazy whippet.
I work part time and spend as much time as I can with my family. Pearl is an absolute treasure and we're looking forward to her becoming a big sister very soon. We like to dance, read, play games, try interesting foods, have little tea parties and spend time outside in the local park as much as possible. We like to visit places and see our friends too and the main bulk of our socialising tends to revolve around cooking and eating!
My daughter Pearl, who is nearly two, absolutely loves splashing around in the bath. She loves animals too, so the toys are just perfect for bath time fun. She lines them all up on the side of the bath one by one, telling us what animals they are, and then counts them before dunking them under the bubbles. I'd recommend the set to any parent looking for something new for bath time.
The stripy blanket is the perfect size for wrapping up a newborn baby in the pram, Moses basket and around the house. The bright colours go perfectly with the colour scheme of Ted's nursery.
I have to say the Mamia fabric conditioner and detergent is excellent. I was super impressed with it. My clothes and bedsheets dried smelling clean and fresh even after a few days. My two children are messy eaters so their bibs are usually so mucky going into the washing machine. The Mamia detergent worked well to get the banana marks out!
The coconut oil was delicious! I loved the recipe too and could not wait to try it out. I already use coconut oil for cooking (and as a moisturiser for me and my children!) but I hadn't tried adding the melted oil to the pancake batter before – it was divine! I'll definitely be making those again. Pearl loves the oil so much she eats spoonfuls from the jar.
It's been a real treat to enjoy some early Easter eggs – they haven't lasted long in our household! The egg with mini eggs inside was a winner and I will be stocking up on these for a little Easter egg hunt for Pearl and her cousins nearer the time. The mini eggs are a perfect treat sized portion for little ones.
I love the Caviar Day Cream and it came at a good time as mine had just run out. I'm a big fan. The texture is rich but light and it's easily absorbed into my skin. It's the perfect way to start the morning and gives a smooth finish. My skin needs all the help it can get with having two young children, including one who's up every few hours in the night!
The grey handbag is so lovely. I'll be using it when I go back to work and I don't have to drag my enormous changing bag around with me! It's the ideal size for my purse, phone and diary as well as some make up. I love the colour too as it will smarten up any outfit.
I'm really impressed with the Mamia laundry range. I have stocked up on the liquid wash and fabric conditioner as we do all of our washing with these products now. My children are messy eaters and love their food so their bibs and clothes get plastered in food! The detergent gets rid of tough food stains including banana and tomatoes.
The all in one nappy has been great. I'm already a fan of Bambino Mio, since having the starter pack from Aldi to try. They're easy to put on and wash really well too. I'm looking forward to the summer when they can be dried on the washing line again.
Wow! Amazing stuff. As a mum of two young kiddies I find my hands are really dry. Washing my hands after nappy changes, nose wipes and washing up really does take its toll so I'm grateful to have found an affordable hand cream. It's like a nourishing drink for my skin and my hands instantly feel soft and smooth.
My children love the bright colours of the Nuby Mealtime Set and enjoy choosing which bowl or plate they’d like for their meal. The snack pots with lids are perfect for storing chopped fruit or cheese for an emergency snack in my bag. They're lightweight and sturdy, and best of all easy to clean. The beakers don't have any fiddly parts to assemble. My kids love the fact the set comes in a little bag and have enjoyed playing teddy bears picnic with all the items!
The hot air balloon design and pastel colours are gorgeous for a baby's nursery! It makes a nice change from just a plain colour changing mat. Tip for new mums - keep a spare changing mat downstairs to save you having to go to the baby's nursery every time you need to change a nappy. It saves time and means you're not running up and down the stairs several times a day.
I love the nautical patchwork design and bright colours. The duvet is soft and lightweight but still snuggly enough for my daughter to get cosy at bedtime.
The Mamia Fruit Pouches have always been a favourite with Pearl. She adores the mango one and slurps it all within seconds. They're a great way for young children to enjoy fruit and are perfect for a quick, healthy and non-messy snack when we're on the move.
The Lacura face wash lathers well and gets rid of make up easily. After using it my skin felt refreshed and clean. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an everyday face wash as it's excellent value for money.
The muscle ease bath soak is just as good as the main brands! I don't often have time to have a long soak but this inspired me to treat myself and the bubble bath was just what I needed. It filled the bathroom with a wonderful rosemary and ginseng fragrance and was instantly relaxing.
I have to say I'm not usually very keen on shop bought cakes. I enjoy baking and usually would say there's nothing like a homemade cake. Not in this case - the Carrot Cake was delicious. The walnuts made it extra tasty and added a bit of crunch to the cake. We demolished it over the course of a day! Perfect with a cup of English breakfast, amazing value as well. I can't believe it's only £1.69. Cheaper than a home baked cake too!
The English Breakfast Tea was perfect with a slice of the Carrot Cake, amazing value as well !
I’m not that keen on herbal teas myself – sorry! I am more of a builder’s tea or earl grey, but my husband enjoyed it.
I usually put one of these packs in my trolley on a weekly shop as they're a perfect size for a little treat. The dark chocolate is just right - not too bitter and also excellent with a cup of tea. I love vanilla so the white chocolate one is just lovely! Really smooth and sweet.
My three year old loves puzzles so she couldn't wait to get this out of the box and play with it. She's at the stage where she's learning to read and this is perfect for getting her ready for preschool. I'd definitely buy one of these as a present for one of her friends. Really good value as it includes a little book and poster too.
The ultimate timeless play thing! My daughter who's three loves messing around with Play Doh and she has lots of sets so this is a great addition to her collection. It's the perfect rainy day activity.
My three year old can't go to bed without it now and loves the little owl. It's the softest blanket ever! We even took it camping last weekend and it was great for her to snuggle up with. Can't believe it's less than £5. It's also a great gift idea - you can never have too many blankets!
So cute! Ted loves this because it's so soft and snuggly and he's really interested in animals so loves this one. My daughter has one already and it's slightly bigger - to be honest, I think the bigger size is better, but they can share them!
About: Hi, we're the Dent Family. I'm James and I live with my wife Nicole and our oldest daughter, Evelyn (or Evie as she is known to most). Evie is 3 and getting to be quite a chatterbox. She loves the outdoors, whether it's playing on her slide and swing, walking the dog or helping us with the gardening; she doesn't mind as long as she can be in the fresh air.
We are expecting our second child, we know it's a girl so at the moment her name is 'Pinky'. She is due soon so we are all waiting with baited breath, it's a really exciting time!
This is a really convenient and easy product to use and leaves the clothes smelling fresh. The gel is easy to measure and doesn’t take up as much room when storing.
This has a plain smell which is good for babies clothes and also leaves the clothes feeling smooth which is a huge bonus.
Both of these products are as good as, if not better, than the leading brands. They do the job, smell nice and are half the price. They are soft on skin and neither product has caused any irritation with my girls!
We have been converted!!! Thank you for having this as a permanent fixture in your shops. This is fantastic, works wonders for pizzas and also for main meals. We were worried that it would give food a coconut or sweet flavour but you can't taste it which is great. We are definitely switching to this from now.
These are fantastic for my 3 year old. They smell great as well which is a bonus and they are brilliant value for money, getting the job done easily as well as the leading brands.
The premium egg looks beautiful, the mix of colours and presentation is great and the value for money is an added bonus. This can be used for an older teenager or an adult which is good.
This is a lovely item and the neutral colour helps it to be a great addition to any room.
We gave this to my mum, 51, and she has said how nice it is on her skin, non-greasy and a great base for her makeup during the day.
These are some great books that have kept my 4-year-old entertained for long periods - she enjoys creating little scenes using the stickers.
These are of a great quality and the designs are fun and friendly. The Team GB Lunch Bag is great - nice and compact to fit in a work or school bag.
This sauce is really nice and tangy, when put on wings and slow cooked it goes nice and sticky as well which just makes you feel all the more American!
This is a nice tangy mustard that goes really well with burgers or hot dogs. It's also nice when on the side of sausages and mash!
I haven't had a chance to use this yet but it smells amazing, the presentation tin gives it a bit more 'oomph' when it's out next to the BBQ. I can’t wait to see how the flavour infuses the meat when cooking.
This is a lovely creamy sauce which matches well with crunchy croutons and bacon in a salad.
The sets we were given were very nice, sturdy and could fit a good sized drink in. The design of the glasses stands out on a table and matched with the serving glasses for a nice starter (such as prawn cocktail).
I've used these for serving loads of things recently; they fit a nice amount of anything for the table and allow people to choose what they want.
This is a really fresh bottle of Prosecco and perfect for a hot summer evening. It is lovely on its own but also when mixed in a classic Italian Hugo (pronounced ugo) spritz; equal parts Prosecco, elderflower cordial and sparkling water.
These two Craft Books are a brilliant alternative to standard crafts and make children think a bit more. I like how they come with everything; templates, guides and decorations so that you can make the finished thing without having to go out and get other stuff. Great for my children or as a top up for a creative styled birthday present.
The biscuits are so well priced and such great value for money. With four individually wrapped bundles they stay fresh for longer and are perfect for my 1-year-old and 4-year-old. I always keep a pack in the car for when the 'hangry monster' starts in the back!
These bars are so indulgent! The dark chocolate ones have that sweet starting taste but as you continue to chew it turns to a lovely bitter chocolate flavour. The vanilla ones are sweet without being sickly. The fact they are individually wrapped just helps to stop me from devouring the entire bar in one go!
This was a lovely moist cake that goes very well with a nice cup of tea. The icing isn't too heavy or overpowering and really compliments the cake. It's also a good size for sharing between a few people.
This coffee was surprisingly nice. Coffee is one of those things that I personally feel you pay for what you get, cheap coffee doesn't taste great. I was really shocked at the depth of flavour that this coffee had. It has a nice fruity flavour that reminds me of berries but has a lovely creamy undertone that means it's perfect for everyday drinking.
The teas brewed really nicely and both had lots of flavour. I found that a slice of lemon in the Red Berry really helped to bring the flavour out.
This is a really fun lunchbox perfect for days out or a school lunchbox. Good hardy design that feels it will withstand a lot.
I love these and I think the lion design is very cute! Doubling up as a teddy also helps and they make good additions to 'den building'.
This blanket is lovely and soft and the 3D lion really helps to 'bring it to life' and make the blanket fun. It really helps as an 'emergency’ teddy for in the car or out and about.
This cutlery is pretty but also practical. The handles are a good size for little hand to grab and they look like our 'grown up' cutlery which really helps at mealtimes.
I like how the prices of this are really big and chunky, again, perfect for little ones. My four year old also enjoys doing it for my one year old so it encourages group play.
The price of this Play Doh is great, you can get lots of colours and it really encourages creative and imaginative play. The colours are bright and bold and the play kits you can get to make things with are so readily available. A great buy!
About: My name is Patricia, Trish for short, and I am 29. I live just outside Birmingham with my partner Richard and our son Rupert who is two. Rupert is our everything and takes up a lot of our focus. We love walks, play dates and swimming.
We're extremely excited that soon our little family will be extended and we will be welcoming another little boy into our world. We know that Rupert will make a perfect big brother and he is super excited.
We have recently tried Aldi’s Monsigny Champagne and were pleasantly surprised! I would highly recommend it to any family over the festive period. The French Champagne has a lovely refreshing fruity taste and is very easy to drink. We will be stocking up this Christmas and it works well for Bucks Fizz on Christmas morning. I would rate it as one of the best Champagnes I have tasted, and I have tasted quite a few!
Location: Milton Keynes
About: I'm Gayle and I'm a mum to 7 amazing children. I have Jake, 14, Emily, 13, Lucy, 11, James, 9, Oliver, 5, Matthew, 2 and Alice, 1!
I've been married to Ivan since 2002 but we've been together since 1994. As a family we do everything together. Mealtimes are fun, it's like cooking a Christmas dinner every day with the amount of plates on the worktop. The children eat pretty much anything they're given! We've been lucky with that.
Our boys love playing football, they play for their local teams. The older girls are now enjoying shopping for their clothes and toiletries. The babies, Matthew and Alice, are always together. Alice started crawling just recently and Matthew helped her. Matthew is crazy for trains and cars, Alice loves noisy toys and is enjoying trying new foods!
The handbag is good quality, and a very pretty teal colour, which is an absolute bargain at £12.99. I would be very happy to receive this on Mother’s Day! My oldest promptly claimed it as her own!
I wouldn’t have bought the Toddler Toilet wipes usually, but I now realise they are perfect for the potty training which we are doing with Matthew at the moment!
Aldi’s Easter eggs look exactly the right size for the children and the chocolate is excellent quality. I was really excited to receive a beautiful Banoffee Easter Egg for myself, from the Moser Roth Premium Collection. I gave Alice the white chocolate buttons to try from inside the Dairyfine White Chocolate Egg and she LOVED them! I am going to stock up on the range from Aldi this year because at 79p for a medium-sized Easter egg, this can't be missed! I'm saving my egg and have had to hide it from the children because it looks so beautiful!
I've been using the Caviar Day Cream to see how it compares to my usual face cream, which is also from Aldi. I have always been a big fan of the Lacura range and this day cream doesn't disappoint! My skin feels lovely and soft and although I'm not sure I look any younger yet, it probably has more to do with running around after seven children! I'm going to continue using this as it feels lovely and smooth and absorbs very quickly, without leaving any film or greasy feeling behind.
Due to the amazing few days we've had we have now had two barbecues! I personally LOVE the Aldi barbecue sauce, so much so that I would have this on my burgers and sausages, bought with the £30 vouchers, rather than tomato ketchup, and that’s saying something! It worked really well as a marinade for the chicken drumsticks and didn't all come off, as a lot of marinades do. This is a 10/10 and I've already stocked up!
I also chilled the bottle of Prosecco and it was amazingly refreshing, not sharp or sour, and bliss to have a glass of bubbles with friends in the garden. Delicious and not expensive, great for parties. No-one would think it was anything but the highest premium bottle you could buy, another 10/10!
The children had LOTS of fun making the Paper Models, and have become quite the experts. I found a swan on my worktop, made by Oliver, 6. Great fun and value and it kept the children occupied for hours, the adults had some fun making them too.
This month was a lovely hamper to share with my friends for a lovely afternoon tea. I have friends who don't drink coffee, I'm not a huge fan myself, but the ones who do tried the Colombian Freeze Dried that I received and said they couldn't believe it was from Aldi as it tasted delicious, not to strong or weak.
I tried the fruit teas and found they were best if I left the teabag in to brew as I drank it, I also made iced tea with them, they are really refreshing, my favourite was Berry Fruits by a long way .
The special buys I received were a box of pretty children’s cutlery, aimed at training a young child to use a knife and fork. The quality of the set is outstanding. Alice has claimed it and now won't eat any meal without her spoon or fork with the flowers on!
I also received some potty training pants, which came at the perfect time for Matthew. I received age 3-4, he is a big 3 year old and already dry in the day inside the house. We used these when we went on short trips and they are perfect for catching those 'moments' as they rush to the toilet and 'just' make it. Not too thick yet absorbent enough for tiny accidents They also don't feel like a nappy, as pull-ups do, so he felt like he was wearing underwear which were ideal for him. We'll continue with these for a while yet. They are a very comfortable fit and nice design, both of the special buy items I received I would happily give 10/10 for! I can't see them staying on the shelves!
About: I'm Clare and a first time mummy of Frans who is 3 months old. Frans is my best friend and we do everything together! I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mummy at the moment and taking a break from being a make up artist. We go to lots of playgroups and also attend fitness classes, walking and go swimming together! Keeping fit and active is important to me along with eating healthy.
My other hobbies are dancing, history and reading, but as you can imagine I don't get chance to read a lot at the moment! But being a mummy is a magical experience and I'm loving every minute of it!
I was excited to try the Aldi Mamia Wipes as I had heard very good things about them, and they have won lots of awards. I have tried both the original wipes and the sensitive wipes, and although I loved them both, I must say that the sensitive wipes are hands down the best. They are not oily, but also give a good clean wipe without leaving a greasy film on baby, which is great. They are a fab size, not being so large that you feel you are wasting them if it isn’t a messy nappy, and not so small that you feel you need to use more. I love the packaging: very sturdy and strong so that I know it won’t tear in the changing bag when it’s jam-packed, and I love the plastic seal. It keeps the wipes perfectly sealed and fresh and prevents the wipes from drying out. I’ve also found that it also allows only one wipe out at a time, which is great as you don’t have to stuff them back into the pack! Overall for the price, you are getting exceptional quality, and they outperform other well-known brands.
I was sent the Lacura Aftersun to review and I must admit I am totally won over with this. It’s easily absorbed and smells very subtle and lovely and isn’t at all greasy. It’s very cooling and my skin was lovely and soft the next day. I noticed I didn’t peel as I usually do when I accidentally overdo the sun exposure! So a bonus all round. The bottle didn’t leak and the 200ml size is great for keeping close by and also transporting and the little cap on the spray top also stops the bottle from accidently spraying when not in use. Overall I love this product. The price is dramatically cheaper from top brand names, but the quality is every bit there. I will definitely be buying this from now on!
With the hotter weather we have been having recently I was pleased to be sent a kids factor 30 sun lotion to review. With a little 5 month old chap to look after this sun lotion has been brilliant. The lotion is a spray application and the squeeze spray is brilliant and very easy to pump. The lotion comes out in a gentle small spray so it doesn’t go everywhere and also doesn’t evaporate in a small breeze if you’re out and about. The bright colour is great for knowing where you have sprayed it and makes the whole process easier and it also has a light subtle smell. The high factor also has a high 5 star UVA rating which is great as there has been a lot of press about this rating in the newspapers lately and is great to know Aldi have thought about this and it’s very clearly stated on the front of the bottle. The lotion is also water resistant and is non greasy and non-sticky. I did notice that it sank into my boy’s skins easily and his clothes didn’t stick to it. Overall I’m very happy with this product and would certainly be buying this from now on.
These are very handy to have around. Although my little one is too small to use these as wet toilet tissue we do use them when we are out and about and also at dinner times to wipe sticky hands and faces. I find them much nicer to use than baby wipes as they feel so cleansing and I love the smell of them – fresh and clean. The size of the pack is very handbag-friendly and I love the kid-orientated packaging. This is a great product which I will definitely purchase again.
I am so excited that the range of baby food pouches has been extended. I love the current pouches and was eager to try the new ones out on my little man. He demolished the breakfast pouches and made lots of yummy noises so they definitely get the thumbs up! I love the fact that these are organic and have the certified organic status from the soil association. The packaging is very cute and striking and my mummy friends are all delighted to know that the range has expanded. Mamia pouches are so cost effective, especially when you compare them to the big brands.
I was pleasantly surprised to see this in my hamper to review as it wasn’t something I was expecting! The bag is a lovely size especially as I have a preference for smaller handbags, and the different colour panels look very pretty. The stitching is good quality and the whole thing looks so much more expensive than it is. It’s a very solid, well-made bag and I love the little zipped compartments – a perfect gift for Mother’s Day! Well done Aldi.
This was a very luxurious Easter egg. I loved the swirly pattern on the front and the chocolate tasted exactly like the Moser Roth milk chocolate that we usually buy. It gave a great snap when we broke into it and was nice and thick. The packaging was firm and sturdy and I loved the bow decoration – this product would make a very good gift.
Aww these looked so cute – what a perfect present for Easter! A pretty little egg box containing four chocolate eggs filled with mousse, and two lovely little spoons to eat the filling with. The cardboard wrap is very prettily decorated and these are so similar to the branded version but of course much cheaper. In my opinion the packaging is also far superior! Well done Aldi, I can imagine these will be flying off the shelves.
I was delighted to receive this nappy to try. The concept of the reusable nappy is so simple and it’s very cost effective. I love the pattern on the nappy and the feel of the outside was so soft and silky and gentle on my baby’s legs. The inner lining is a soft towelling material and I noticed the more you wash it the more absorbent the nappy becomes – I love how this section can be pulled out to aid washing. While wearing there was no leaking and the nappy didn’t become too heavy as I had thought it might. I love how it’s just one size and the fact that it’s adjustable means that I can use it for as long as my little one is in nappies! I will certainly keep my eye out for the next Baby & Toddler event so that I can buy a few more!
I love Aldi hand washes so was pleased to receive this one to review. The scent is lovely and its creamy consistency didn’t dry out my hands. It’s a good size and the pump never failed. Great product.
This shower gel was great for my hubby to use. Whereas I love floral smells, he loves zingy, herby smells and the lime smell of this shower gel was perfect for him. The product looked attractive and when out and about in a gym bag it didn’t leak. It foamed well and left the skin clean and fresh. A great product, especially for the price.
What a lovely foamy bath soak. I didn’t need to use much product to create a lot of bubbles and the herby smell was soothing but also refreshing. Another good thing was that the scent didn’t disappear throughout bath time which I’ve found with some bath foams in the past. The size and look of the product compared well with other branded products and truthfully if I hadn’t known it was Aldi I would have sworn it was the leading branded version! The price is amazing and we will definitely be buying this again.
After receiving this to trial I was instantly converted. I’m very much into my skincare and so I’m cautious with using more value products but this was fabulous! It’s perfect as a second cleanse or a morning cleanse. I applied onto dry skin and it felt so creamy when massaging. It rinsed away well and didn’t leave my skin dry or tight, just nicely clean. The soap free formula and easy squeezy bottle is great for hygiene and in the shower or the gym bag. I absolutely have fallen in love with this and for £1.29 I will certainly be stocking up!
During this pregnancy I have suffered really badly with dry, tight knuckles that are super sensitive and sting when some types of hand creams are applied. This hand cream was lovely though and I am using it now on a daily basis. I love the squeezy tube as there is nothing worse than trying to put a lid back onto a hand cream when you have the product squirted into your hand. It was lovely and creamy but didn’t take too long to sink into the skin, and it gave instant relief to my dry knuckles.
My little boy isn’t overly keen on the apple version but he absolutely adores the raspberry ones we received this month and keeps asking for more! They are now a staple snack in the cupboards and he simply loves them. They are a great size and I like that they aren’t too thick as this makes them more manageable for him. They give a lovely ‘snap’ and I think they are really helping my little boy with his teething. The bag size is larger than most branded products and so you really get more for your money. I love the soft pink packaging for raspberry and the light green for apple.
My little one absolutely loves the new flavours and I was surprised at the combinations and love the variety. Branded pouches tend to be the same flavours no matter which brand, so it was lovely to see mango and sweet potato as the main ingredients. I loved the bright, attractive packaging, and the twist cap/squeezy pouch is great for on the go. My little one is using these and learning how to feed himself! Can’t wait to stock up on these!
This changing mat was nice and big and soft. It wasn’t as hard or structured as some changing mats but I actually prefer it like this. The bendiness made storing the mat much easier. The green dinosaur design was funky and unusual and the mat was easy to clean. A great purchase.
This was a lovely little set. The zip bag is fab and is very reusable. The bowls and plates are a great size and wash well in the dishwasher as well as by hand. The little tubs are great for carrying snacks around in a day bag, and the cups have good seals for on the move or being tipped over! It has been fun teaching my little one how to use a straw with this set. I would highly recommend for weaning as it’s such a good price and you get lots of different items.
This was a lovely little book. Very unique and such a good read. My little one loved playing with the puppet and the fact you could make the story more entertaining with the puppet made this book brilliant. The lovely hardback cover and pretty design would make this an excellent gift.
This was the hit of this month’s hamper. My little one has become obsessed with the fire engine noise button! It’s the book he always points to when going to bed and he just bursts with excitement when we get to a part where he can press the button again. It’s become invaluable. The lovely hard cover will make it hard wearing and hopefully it will last a long time. Great buy!
This is such a lovely idea and I didn’t even know you could get reusable versions of swim nappies. The terry towelling inner was soft against my little one and the adjustable string waistband gave a good fit. I found my little one could move freely in the water and he seemed to like wearing it. The design on the pants was cute and I would happily use these continuously from now on.
This was such a lovely surprise product. I wasn’t expecting it to be as lovely as it was! The pink colour gave just the right amount of pop without being over the top and it didn’t cling to any dry skin that was on my lips. The consistency was lovely and smooth and it really worked well as a balm to help chapped lips. I will happily buy this again.
We used the Dip Bowls to melt the dark chocolate we received and we love these little bowls. They are the perfect size for dips and the shape makes them great to hold and carry. I love the cream colour and the fact they are matte ceramic makes them look more expensive that they are. We will certainly use these a lot from now on.
A lovely tangy dressing that livens up any salad. The liquid poured well from the bottle and tasted really fabulous on avocado and tomatoes. Nice and refreshing in this heat!
We were surprised at the quality and thickness of the glass for such a reasonable price. The glasses are a great size and hold a good size of liquid. They look expensive and make a great addition to the dinner table.
My hubby has been using this to the gym to store his gym shoes and water bottle. Along with the Cool Bag the fabric is strong and great quality and we love the flag design. The size is perfect for carrying on the back and it does sit flat to the back when half filled - great little item.
I’ve found this little bag a god send in this heat. I’ve used it practically every day to store baby milk and toddler foods and drinks when out and about to keep them cool. I bought some little thin ice packs to use inside and thought it would be a great idea for you to stock these alongside the Cool Bags! The bag is a perfect size and the fabric is great quality and strong. The handle is a great length for carrying and the cool lining really does keep everything cool without making the outside of the bag damp or cold.
Our friends little girl oved the Sticker Books. During a visit it kept her entertained all afternoon. They were great quality and very fun filled and a great size. We loved the Olympics theme and are going to stock more in for friends’ kids to use, as with a new-born in the house you can imagine we are having lots of visitors at the moment!
Very smooth and filling dark chocolate. We melted it down and used as a dipping sauce for strawberries. It melted well and didn’t burn and tasted amazing with the strawberries. As I’m now trying to lose some baby weight I found a little nibble satisfied my sugar craving as it’s so rich.
My husband enjoyed the Ale. He did comment that it tasted more like a lager than a beer (he’s more an ale man!) It was a light frothy Ale and he did say it went down easily. The bottle was attractive and being in the forces, the name and patriotic flag did draw him to it. I’m not sure he would buy again for himself to drink but for parties he would happily make sure that we had some in for guests.
So having just recently moved I thought I would let you know my thoughts on your Maidstone store. Truthfully it’s like a breath of fresh air compared to the Swindon East store. It’s so clean and fresh and it’s lovely to see staff constantly stocking the shelves and turning over the fruit and vegetable stocks. I’ve found the fruit and vegetables at this store to be really fresh and it seems they more variety of stock in general. Fresh breads, fully stocked special buys section and more checkouts open. They also have more parent and child parking which is such a relief as it’s truly a nightmare trying to get two babies out of the car in a normal parking space.
I’m not a great Prosecco lover - I’m much more of a red wine girl and love your Torro Loco Red Wine! We opened the Prosecco and thought it was a lovely version. Very bubbly and dry and with a sharp clean taste. I then made Strawberry Bellini’s with it and it was very yummy! By the way I did use your strawberries!! Very fresh and a good number in the box.
I was over the moon when I saw this in the hamper as we are addicted to it in our household. We must buy 4-5 bottles of it a week and its fast become our go to choice. As I’ve been pregnant over the spring it was fab to replace a tipple when socialising with friends and now it’s amazing with Pimms or a splash of vodka. Highly recommend!
With me being the only vegetarian in our family, I sometimes get left out at BBQs but I was delighted to find this tart in the supermarket. The crust was rich and buttery and there was a perfect amount of cheese to onion ratio. Begrudgingly the rest of the family also loved it and it didn’t last long on the table before it was devoured by all. Loved the packaging and it looked more expensive that it was. Such good quality.
I bought a fresh loaf of Tiger Bread at your Maidstone store. Our old Swindon store didn’t have these fresh Breads in stock so it’s nice to see new things popping up all the time. The bread was lovely and soft with a crispy crunchy Tiger crust. It cut well and with a rub of garlic and a drizzle of oil and placed on the BBQ it made lovely garlic bread. Very yummy!
So for BBQ dessert we made bananas with melted chocolate and they tasted amazing. The bananas were very fresh and the chocolate was packaged well and snapped easily into pieces. It melted well on the bananas and together they made a perfect match!
As there is no direct name of a supermarket, we recommend publishing as the review is overwhelmingly positive, saying that Aldi steaks are delicious and it is his preferred choice over other supermarkets.
Again, we recommend posting as the flavours are described as a ‘brilliant combination’ and Lincolnshire Sausages are known for being very popular, so the fact that the family enjoyed these just as much is a real positive
This was a lovely size cake for four people. The cake cut well and had a nice bounce to it. You could taste the carrot and spices but I did feel it could have done with a bit more icing but the hubby thought it was just right amount. The walnut sprinkles on top were a nice finish. The packaging was great and looked expensive. I would definitely buy again to take as a pudding to dinner at a friend’s house.
I am such a fan of Moser Roth chocolate. I love the individually wrapped chocolates and they are just the right amount to satisfy my sweet tooth without going overboard and eating the whole pack. The chocolate was smooth and you could see the vanilla mixed in which made it feel more luxurious. It was very yummy but I preferred the dairy fine white chocolate personally. Dark Chocolate - This was a nice rich chocolate. A little too rich for me as it did get sickly once you had eaten half a piece. So I think I preferred the less percentage chocolate but nevertheless it was a nice treat to eat! Loved the red packaging and it looked very fitting to represent the product.
I love my fruit teas so I was chuffed to receive this to review. The tea was delicious. Very fruity and strong and the tea mixed well instantly in the water. It also had lovely rich red/pink colour and a lovely sweet smell. I like the packaging. The box i s strong and keeps the tea bags fresh. I’m happily going to buy this again.
I’m a big coffee drinker and I love my strong Italian coffee so I was interested to try this. It want as nutty as I thought it would be and it was a lovely fla vour. Nice and smooth and it mixed very well with water. I was quite surprised to really like this as I don’t usually like instant coffee. I much prefer freshly brewed but with two very young children I don’t have time to brew as I used. Again, with the kids I definitely need a quick strong cup of coffee first thing after being up all night and this has been gods send this last couple of weeks. Think I have been converted!
This was definitely the star find in the hamper this month. Frans absolutely loved it. The pieces were nice and big and he spent at least an hour playing with it initially and has kept going back to it. Trying to work out how the pieces fit and looking at the pictures. I loved the little picture booklet that it came with and it meant I could do some object learning with him as well to try and help him with learning the names for things. The box is great for storing the puzzle and the handle means that he can get it out of the toy box and carry it himself to where he wants it. The pieces are nice and strong and durable which is great as it will last him a long time and I noticed when he didn’t have the right pieces and was trying to force it, the pieces didn’t bend and distort easily. Really great puzzle for his age.
I’m always surprised to find branded goods in Aldi. Frans has always been too young for Play Doh before so it was lovely to see him playing with it for the first time. I liked the re-sealable pot and it kept the dough fresh and moist. Frans found it easy to mould and play with. I’ll be buying more in the event!
This was a very lovely and cute blanket and these would make wonderful gifts. I love the 3D element to it and the colours are so pretty. Nice size and soft and snugg ly. I think these will be very popular in the baby event.
Frans is really getting there using cutlery and I was just about to buy him a nice set so I was over the moon to find these in the hamper. I absolutely adore them! I love the coloured writing on the handles and they look so shiny and classy compared to the usual plastic sets I have . Frans finds them easy to use and not too heavy and they are such a good size that I know they will last him a few years.
About: My name is Alex and I live with my husband Joe and my son Jaxson. As a family we love being outdoors with Jaxson. We live 5 minutes from Colchester Zoo so you will find us there at least once a week!
At the moment Jaxson loves football, swimming, jigsaws and arts & crafts. There's not much he doesn't like! My interests are blogging , photography, fashion and taking Jaxson on great days out.
We have used this marinade already and now have two in our cupboard! It’s perfect for adding flavour to chicken thighs and cooking on a BBQ - amazing value and really delicious.
Not something I normally eat/buy but this tastes amazing on burgers! A great addition to a summer BBQ and at only £1.29 it's a bargain.
This is one my husband had to try as I'm not a fan, but his comments were, "tastes great, a strong contender against other brands I've tried, and it's cheaper so I'd be more inclined to buy this one".
The Bubbles Glasses are lovely! I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. They are heavy and sturdy and feel like they would last a lifetime. I particularly like the wine glasses; I would actually use them with some brightly coloured cocktails on a summer evening.
Not something I've seen before but a really useful item to have for a dinner party. They look nice and are a lovely colour. It would be nice if they came with salad spoons to match.
I love these sticker books. My 3-year-old is obsessed with stickers so when he saw these he got really excited, especially because he's finding an interest in sports. These are fun for the kids but also educational - a great buy.
We will be using this as my son’s swimming bag. A great product to support and celebrate the Olympics and £4.99 is a reasonable price.
A fun item to celebrate the Olympics. Not sure I would pay £5.99 as it would become dated quickly. It's more a novelty item. My son really likes it though and it's great for his lunch when we go out for picnics.
Apologies but I'm not drinking due to breastfeeding so hubby tried this one for me. He was really impressed with this Prosecco especially as it's only £5.29! We have been telling friends about it as it's going to save people a lot of money if they buy Prosecco from Aldi from now on!
With our vouchers we bought food for a barbecue (although we cooked indoors). We tried the Lamb Kebabs which were delicious and made chicken kebabs with chicken breast and red peppers. We also had the stuffed mushrooms (which are my favourite) and new potatoes. I am dieting and trying to lose the baby weight so avoided burgers and sausages, but the kebabs made a nice change.
My son is a little young to do this by himself, but was very keen to try with supervision. My brother loves Origami and really enjoyed showing Jaxson how it works. I think these are great for young children as it's very straight forward to do but something new to try.
We have tried a few of these now and they are all delicious. They are great on their own or with alcohol. 49p is an incredible price for something a bit different to standard fizzy drinks.
As I'm dieting my husband had the pleasure of eating this. He said it was really delicious chocolate, quite sweet so good if you've got a sweet tooth ! 99p is an amazing price. This chocolate is great for an evening treat with a cup of tea.
Again hubby had to try this. He's not a fan of dark chocolate but tried it anyway. Too strong for him, but £1.25 is such a good price and he's sure it would be popular with those who eat this type of chocolate.
A really lovely tea. Breakfast tea is my favourite and for 99p this is a really great competitor to the more expensive brands.
My son loves puzzles, especially big floor ones so he was really excited when he opened this. It's great for teaching animals, so educational and fun. £2.99 is an absolute bargain.
Another favourite in our house is Play-Doh. Such a great item to have in the special buys. 75p is really cheap and would keep my son happy for hours.
This cutlery set is really lovely. Such a great gift item. Personally I think £9.99 is quite a lot for a cutlery set from Aldi, even though they are lovely.
We are at the stage where we want to stop using pull ups at night, so these are perfect to help get our son dry. I haven't seen this product, but know the brand, so I'm sure they will be really popular, and £4.99 is a great price.
My son really loves his turtle cushion, especially as he loves Teenage mutant ninja turtles! He slept on it but said it made him too hot so wants to keep it as a turtle - bless!
